John Creighton is running for his second term on the Port of Seattle Commission. During his first term he led on environmental issues by focusing on increasing the Port's commitment to the environment and working hard on transportation and freight mobility issues important to the region. The Port of Seattle has established a goal of being “the greenest, cleanest, most energy efficient port in the country” and Creighton has pursued that goal by working for the cleanup of PCBs in the soil of the Port’s Terminal 117, advocating dredging practices at the seaport that best protect the environment, sponsoring a motion providing for heightened environmental protection at the seaport in six areas, and supporting heightened environmental stewardship at SeaTac Airport, including setting goals for reduction of airport greenhouse gases. Creighton has demonstrated a clear vision for the future of our Port and we're confident he'll continue to lead on environmental issues on the Commission.
