Endorsed: Kim Allen, Redmond City Council, Position 4
Kim Allen is running for her second term to the Redmond City Council and has earned the endorsement of Washington Conservation Voters for both campaigns. Her first term on the Council saw Redmond enact several strong environmental policies, including adding carbon footprint questions to their SEPA checklist and, if re-elected, she is eager to begin work on Redmond's new sustainability initiative, which includes the rehabilitation of their urban forest as a goal to be measured.
Kim Allen is running for her second term to the Redmond City Council and has earned the endorsement of Washington Conservation Voters for both campaigns. Allen currently sits on the Council’s Planning and Public Works and Public Safety Committees, and is the Redmond representative to the Eastside Transportation Partnership and Suburban Cities representative to the King County Growth Management Planning Council. During Allen’s time on the council, Redmond has enacted several strong environmental policies, including adding carbon footprint questions to their SEPA checklist, mandating and designating two urban centers in downtown Redmond and Overlake with comprehensive plans to focus growth there, and developing one of the strongest tree ordinances in the region. If re-elected, Allen is eager to begin work on Redmond’s new sustainability initiative, which includes rehabilitation of their urban forest as a goal to be measured. Allen has a strong vision for the future of Redmond and if re-elected, we're confident she'll continue to be a strong advocate for environmental policies.
