Rob Holland will bring a lifetime of hands-on experience to the Port of Seattle Commission, through his work as an industrial real estate professional, a marine transportation specialist, former Port of Tacoma employee and community leader. Holland will be an advocate for environmental protection and has named many priorities to help the Port of Seattle meet its goal of becoming “the greenest, cleanest, most energy efficient port in the country.” Holland’s top priorities include promoting stronger ties with the Puget Sound Partnership, taking real responsibility for Elliott Bay restoration, and helping the Port meet and exceed targets for reducing carbon emissions. He has laid out the Holland Green Jobs Plan, which calls for emissions reduction, coast and waterway cleanup, and retrofitting of port facilities as a means to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the port while creating thousands of good jobs and increasing our competitive edge relative to other west coast ports. Rob Holland has demonstrated a clear vision for the future of the Port of Seattle and we're confident he'll lead on environmental issues.
