Endorsed: Marilyn Strickland, City of Tacoma Mayor
Marilyn Strickland first earned the Pierce Conservation Voters endorsement when she ran for Tacoma City Council in 2007. As a Council Member, Strickland was a strong supporter of transit oriented communities and transfer of development rights. She currently represents Tacoma on the Pierce County Regional Council, where policies for land use, growth, and transportation are established. Strickland supported the creation of the City of Tacoma Office of Sustainability and has a clear vision for working with the new department. Strickland, who was raised in South Tacoma, will continue to lead on these important issues as Mayor.
