Pierce Conservation Voters is a local chapter of Washington Conservation Voters.

Pierce Conservation Voters works to support environmentally responsible elected officials and candidates for public office to ensure Pierce County is a healthy and safe place to live.

Pierce County voters look to Pierce Conservation Voters as the political voice of local politics.  The organization has had an ongoing successful history since it established in the early 1990's.

Pierce Conservation has celebrated many successful victories, including:

  • 2009: City Councilmember and environmental leader Marilyn Strickland was elected Mayor of Tacoma.
  • 2009: Jake Fey, a leader in energy and land use issues, was reelected to the Tacoma City Council.
  • 2007: Tacoma residents re-elected environmental leader Julie Anderson to City Council

  • 2007: Environmental issues played a role in electing Clare Petrich to Port of Tacoma

Get Involved

Join Pierce Conservation Voters and make a difference in your community.  Pierce County is the second largest county in Washington state and we always need more environmental voices to make a strong difference.

Help us endorse candidates, elect candidates and advance local environmental solutions.  All of us can be environmental champions.

Overheard...

Melodie Wilson"I vote for the environment for very intimate and personal reasons, simply because the environment makes me feel so good. When I go out in nature it feels really marvelous, it is an absolutely spiritual experience that fortifies my health and wellbeing and my connection to God." - Melodie Wilson
