2007- 2008 Environmental Score: 100% Lifetime Score: 100% 2007-2008 House Environmental Champion As the Chair of the Select Committee on Puget Sound in 2007 and the Ecology & Parks Committee in 2008, Representative Upthegrove has demonstrated his commitment to the environment on a wide range of issues. His leadership on both Puget Sound and on climate change has cemented his role as an Environmental Champion. In the last Scorecard, we pronounced that “he is fast becoming a rising star in the House.” In 2007-2008, he arrived as one. Representative Upthegrove has been an advocate for the environment throughout his
tenure in Olympia. Most recently, he has take on leadership positions
on both Puget Sound and global warming. He also advances environmental
legislation as as the Chair of the Ecology & Parks committee. He
has consistently been a friend to the environmental community, looking
for ways to advance conservation wherever possible.
