Stuart the Steward
Jack Hohimer
Age 10, Normandy Park

mountains and lake

Stuart the steward
had lots of stuff
But he managed it well
 and never gave guff
about sharing,
recycling or giving away.
He took two minute
showers
and plants trees
each Earth Day
Here is the lesson
I’m trying to tell
Whether you’ve
little or lots,
just steward it well
For Earth Day
comes only
one time a year
But people for eons
need Earth to be here
There’s a bunch
you can do
Think of all
your own ways
To steward like Stuart
Care for Earth on all days!

Keep the Earth Clean
Sydney Bolton
Age 8, Lynnwood

The earth has feelings
Keep it clean
Stop polluting and go green
Use alternative power
Take a shorter shower
Keep our world
nice and clean

Protect Our Planet
Myah McNeal
Age 9, Kirkland

 mountains

Protect our planet
for you and me
So we can see
the beautiful trees,
Protect our planet
with seas so high.
That try to touch
the beautiful sky,
Protect our planet
with air so clean,
So we can keep
our planet green.

Keep the Earth Clean
Elizabeth Brezicha,
Age 9, Kirkland

 trees

The Earth needs help now.
You can make a difference.
Help us clean up now.

Poor Poor Puget Sound
Felicitas Fischer
Age 9, Normandy Park

Salmon with bear

Poor, poor Puget Sound
With garbage lying all around
Just think of all the fishes
Soon they’ll end up
on our dishes
We could have a clean sea
We can make a difference – you and me!
Let’s clean it up tonight
And tomorrow it will
be a beautiful sight.

Save the Earth
Eliana Madwed
Age 10, Seattle

Don’t put the Earth to waste
At least don’t do it
in such a haste
Don’t let down the land, the water, the trees
Let the Earth breathe free
If we let gas and oil take over
The earth will have
to take cover
If to litter we say nay
The Earth will scream hurray!

Our Earth
Sophie Davis-Rittenberg
Age 10, Seattle

 waterfall

No matter where you stand.
Under the sea.
Or on the land.
We have to work together
to keep our earth clean.
This earth is ours,
So treat it as your friend,
Make sure you help
to keep it fine.
Until it sparkles and it shines.
Because the earth is yours and mine.

Sammy Salmon Says
Katie Forrest, Age 8,
Illahee Elementary School
Vancouver WA

Salmon are red,
Water is blue,
I love our Earth, and
Good lawmakers too!
