Environmental Organizations Endorse Roads and Transit Package Largest Expansion of Transit in History of Washington State
Washington state - Today a slate of leading environmental organizations announced their endorsements of Roads and Transit. The package will provide more transportation options while improving our quality of life and the environment. The organizations announcing their endorsement are: Transportation Choices Coalition, Washington Conservation Voters, Futurewise, Environment Washington, Tahoma Audubon, and Washington Environmental Council.
King County Conservation Voters Endorses Environmental Champions
Seattle, WA - The environment stands to win big this fall given the number of quality candidates that are running for public office on strong environmental records and platforms in King County. The King County chapter of Washington Conservation Voters announced the first round of King County endorsements today which included endorsements of Gael Tarleton for the Port of Seattle, Position 2, Alec Fisken for Port of Seattle, Position 5, and Keri Andrews for the Bellevue City Council, Position 2.
Senator Phil Rockefeller Named Legislator of the Year by Washington Conservation Voters
Seattle, WA – Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) named Senator Phil Rockefeller (D-23) the Legislator of the Year for his outstanding environmental leadership during the 2007 legislative session. As the architect of the Save our Sound bill that passed the House and Senate, Senator Rockefeller was instrumental in creating an agency that will ensure Washington has a plan to save the Puget Sound by 2020. “When Puget Sound needed a champion, Senator Rockefeller stepped up and made it a priority,” said Kurt Fritts, WCV’s Executive Director
NW Political Veteran Named to Lead WCV
The Board of Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) announced today that it has chosen political veteran Kurt Fritts to serve as Executive Director of the organization, the bipartisan, political arm of the conservation and sustainability movement in Washington State.
