Washington Conservation Voters Applauds Governor Gregoire for Delivering on Campaign Commitment

Seattle, WA –  Washington Conservation Voters applauds Governor Gregoire for her leadership on tackling global warming through her request of the Cap and Invest legislation (HB1819 and SB5735). During the 2008 campaign, Governor Gregoire distinguished herself from her opponent by promising to continue leading the nation on tackling climate change. She earned the endorsement of Washington Conservation Voters because of her commitment to the issue.

We count on our endorsed candidates to come through on their environmental campaign promises; giving the state the authority to actually implement global warming pollution limits as established by the 2008 Legislature is a necessary next step that we expected from Governor Gregoire, who campaigned on the issue of tackling global warming.
