Port of Seattle Position 2

Over nearly three decades, WCV has worked to ensure our endorsement is a clear sign to voters that any candidate who has earned this designation will fight to ensure all people in Washington state have a healthy place to live, a strong economy, and a protected environment. We have a rigorous vetting process and don’t decide to endorse lightly. But in a handful of races, there are two candidates who we feel have earned our support. In these races, both have shown they will work to live up to the values of WCV and our members.

Sam Cho founded an international export company and interacts daily with port operations. He has a strong vision for the Port transitioning to sustainable sources of energy as rapidly as possible. He also has experience working in the US State Department and as a Commissioner on the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, all which give him valuable perspective on issues at the port.

Preeti Shridhar’s impressive vision for an inclusive economy that includes strong worker and environmental protection earned her an endorsement. With her 25+ years working with King County cities, businesses, and community organizations, Preeti is rooted in the community and would serve the Port Commission well.

Voters would be served well by both of these candidates. To learn more about the candidates visit their websites: Preeti Shridhar: https://preetiforport.com/ and Sam Cho: https://www.electsamcho.com/
