By electing Kim Harless and Diana Perez to the Vancouver City Council and Eric LaBrant to the Vancouver Port we are electing leaders who will prioritize environmental and public health. They all have deep roots in Vancouver and the experience necessary to represent the needs of their communities and tackle the most pressing challenges facing us today.

Kim Harless

Position running for: Vancouver City Council Position 1

Kim has spent her career working for nonprofits and in the public sector on waste management, recycling, and environmental operations. She is from Vancouver and has spent her life and career dedicated to making her community stronger and ensuring everyone is represented and cared for. She’s worked and volunteered for issues across her community from addressing food shortage to housing accessibility to volunteering at the environmental education center.

She is running a strong campaign centered on our need for a strong economy, affordable and accessible housing and services, and the creation and protection of parks and green spaces and clean air and water for all of Vancouver.

Diana has a long history of service to her community. She worked for the Forest Service, dedicating herself to the conservation of our lands waters and public resources then moved on to work on an array of issues facing her community such as the affordable housing crisis. She also realized the need for more representation amongst the Latin American community in Vancouver and founded the local council of League of United Latin American Citizens.

Diana’s campaign priorities are rooted in the need of the community. She is focused on living wage jobs, meeting the needs of families with things like housing and accessible transit, and balancing economic recovery with environmental sustainability.

Eric LaBrant

Position running for: Port of Vancouver Position 2

Eric was elected to the Port Commission in 2015 and has been a strong advocate for the community ever since. He has worked to create hundreds of additional jobs and revenue for the port all while prioritizing community needs and environmental sustainability. He also succeeded in bolstering the resiliency of businesses and public health as we have navigated the  COVID-19 pandemic and passing the ports Renewable Energy Policy to ensure that as our economic activities grow they prioritize renewable energies over fossil fuels.

We must re-elect Commissioner LaBrant to build on the work he has started at the port. Under his leadership in the next few years the port can continue to create new jobs, focus on economic recovery that prioritizes community needs, continue the development of the waterfront, and increase the ports commitment to sustainability.
